Job Description
The Ion endoluminal system is Intuitive's robotic platform for minimally invasive biopsy in the peripheral lung, with an initial goal of improving the early diagnosis of lung cancer. In this role, you will work as part of Ion's Digital and Data software team to support our cloud-based infrastructure and web applications, with an emphasis on automation, scalability, and reliability.

Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their requirements and provide solutions that align with our company's mission and objectives.
  • Design, build, and maintain cloud infrastructure hosted on AWS to support a modern web applications.
  • Set up and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure rapid and reliable software delivery.
  • Implement and monitor infrastructure-as-code.
  • Manage configuration and deployment of services including frontend web hosting, backend APIs, and database integrations.
  • Define observability standards including monitoring, logging, and alerting.
  • Work closely with application security and engineering teams to enforce infrastructure and application security best practices.
  • Assist with cost monitoring and optimization of cloud resources.
  • Contribute to incident response procedures and improve system reliability and uptime.
  • Document designs, configurations, and code to facilitate knowledge transfer within the team.
Qualifications
Required Education, Skills & Experience
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent
  • Minimum 3-4 years of experience in a DevOps role supporting modern web applications
  • Experience with AWS resources including EC2, IAM, VPC, DynamoDB, Lambda, RDS
  • Proficient with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar)
  • Proficient with configuring and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
  • Solid grasp of integrating with external services such as auth providers and analytics platforms
  • Knowledge of security best practices, especially in healthcare and sensitive data environments
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Knowledge of MedTech industry standards and regulations, such as ISO 13485 or IEC 62304
  • Experience deploying or managing infrastructure to support embedded applications or edge devices
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for embedded application software development

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.

Base Salary Range Region 1: $180,400 USD - $259,600 USD
Base Salary Range Region 2: $153,300 USD - $220,700 USD
