Construction Manager - Remote* (Finance)



The specific pay rate and level will depend on the successful candidate's qualifications, prior experience and location.

*Remote position based out of WA, OR, CA, or AZ

"A Day in the Life "

Mobile Modular is a business that sells and leases relocatable and permanent modular buildings. As a Construction Manager with Mobile Modular, you will be responsible for working with the sales team supporting projects from Qualifying to Contract. This position has the responsibility to manage the proposal process to include estimating, subcontractor sourcing, proposal development and risk management to best position the Company to secure a contract with the customer.

"What You'll Do"

  • Lead the project in scope of work/specification development, estimating, establishing the schedule, preliminary design through the proposal phase from Qualifying to Contract.
  • Prepare proposals based on bid documents or conceptual estimates.
  • Provide leadership for internal and external project team members to meet project goals, adhering to their responsibilities and project milestones to ensure that we deliver a complete and comprehensive proposal to our customer.
  • Track and report on project status through the proposal process.
  • Work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
  • Procure adequate resources to achieve project objectives in planned timeframes.
  • Negotiate and secure vendors upon project award.
  • Be a strong advocate for “Team Selling” to support and mentor the salesperson to execute on our proposal strategy.
  • Provide status reporting regarding project milestones, deliverable, dependencies, risks and issues, communicating across leadership.
  • Demonstrate a functional acumen to support how solutions will address client goals while maintaining alignment with industry best practices and company risk thresholds.
  • Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods and techniques.

"Must Haves"

  • 5-10 years construction management related experience (required) Bachelor's Degree (desired).
  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment demonstrating teamwork, innovation and excellence.
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written, verbal and presentation) and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivated, decisive, with the ability to adapt to change and competing demands.
  • Technically competent with MS Project, Excel, Word, Power Point and Project Management Software.
  • Team-building skills with technical and non-technical staff.
  • Experience working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment with excellent prioritization and time management skills.
  • Well organized with excellent customer service skills.
  • Skilled at negotiation with customers and vendors/subcontractors.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects.
  • Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction plans
  • Knowledge of the relevant building codes for any state and the Uniform Building Code (UBC).
  • Modular building industry experience preferred but not required
  • AutoCad experience a plus
  • Travel with overnight stays to will be required. Approximately 15%-20%
  • A valid driver's license will be required.
