About the Role

Essity Health and Medical Solutions is currently seeking a Quality Engineer at our Charlotte, NC location.

The successful candidate will ensure that products and processes meet established specifications and quality standards while using collected findings to identify opportunities for continuous improvement. They will also provide statistical support for sampling plans, data analysis, and failure investigations.

What You Will Do

  • Act as role model for safety and quality;
  • Collaborates with R&D, manufacturing, marketing, regulatory, and other functions on new product design, design change, and ad hoc projects;
  • Perform complex inspections and set quality standards for both in-process and finished products and materials;
  • Develops methods for testing, sampling, and training;
  • Train and oversee the quality team in their use of control forms, procedures, and correcting quality problems;
  • Advises personnel in collecting and organizing the quality and failure data to be reported throughout the manufacturing, repair, and complaint process;
  • May act as internal consultant providing technical guidance on more complex projects;
  • Apply quality principles, analyzes quality records, prepares reports and recommends improvement;
  • Conduct inspection, verification and validation of components or materials used in development processes;
  • Identify and address recurring problems either with the quality of the product or the reliability of testing procedures;
  • Document quality issues and performance measures for management review;
  • Perform continuous improvement projects and lead root cause analysis activities;
  • Performs process/test equipment/software validations;
  • Researches, purchases, qualifies and provides technical support for test equipment;
  • Leads monthly quality review meetings;
  • Performs statistical analysis and reporting;
  • Writes, reviews, and approves quality system procedures, work instructions, and forms;
  • Perform internal, corporate and supplier audits.

Who You Are

  • 3+ years experience in quality assurance/quality management;
  • Experience at medical device manufacturers (preferred), pharmaceutical or automotive companies;
  • Experienced and certified (lead) auditor;
  • Prefer advanced knowledge of quality system standards, laws, and regulations such as ISO 13485, ISO 14971, US-FDA QSRs, EU – MDD / MDR, GxPs;
  • (Lean) Six Sigma Green or Black belt education helpful;
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills;
  • Ability to achieve results through problem-solving, decision making, prioritization, organization, and time management;
  • Engineering or Life Science related bachelor's degree;
  • Business fluent in English (verbal and written), advanced / fluent in Spanish is a plus.
