Roller Operator (Manufacturing)

Want to be part of an exciting team helping the wind industry? Broadwind Heavy Fabrications in Abilene, TX is currently looking for Roller Operators to join our team on B Shift, which is 6 p.m. to 3 a.m. Monday through Friday. This shift also comes with a $2.00/hr shift differential. The Roller is responsible for operating the roll machine, using roller work instructions and knowledge of steel properties to roll cans.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:(May include some or all of the following responsibilities)
Check plate edge prepping
Use blue prints to proactively identify parameters to form job
Adjust equipment settings according to different materials and how they take pressures
Use one of the roll machines to roll tower cans, understanding the pinch pressure process
Check the radius of can using sweeps
Weld 2G GMAW to quality specification (root pass)
Clean root pass after welding
Use crane to remove can from roller
Inspect rigging equipment daily
Safely and efficiently operate overhead crane
Complete CRLW log
Record job and section worked in time matrix
Actively support all EHS and continuous improvement initiatives
Other duties as assigned
