Conrad Orlando is seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Manager - Weddings & Special Events to lead the sales, planning, and execution of luxury weddings, galas, and high-end social functions. What will I be doing?

As the Senior Manager, Weddings & Special Events, your duties include negotiating business through proposals and contracts to secure deals. You will creatively design menus and events to maximize both revenue and the event experience. It's also your responsibility to maintain existing relationships with corporate and social accounts. In this role, you will handle event documentation and coordinate with Sales, hotel departments, and customers to ensure consistent, high-level service throughout the pre-event, event, and post-event phases. This position typically manages complex events. You are expected to ensure a smooth transition from sales to service and back to sales. You will identify opportunities to maximize revenue by upselling and offering enhancements to create exceptional events. Acting as the primary contact for the event planner after turnover on property, you are accountable for their experience. Additionally, you may assist and represent the Director of Catering and Events.

Specifically, your essential functions will be to perform the following tasks to the highest standards:

  • Proactively solicit, book, and manage high-end weddings and special events, from initial inquiry through execution and post-event follow-up.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, ensuring a personalized and luxury experience from start to finish.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with wedding planners, local organizations, community partners, and high-value clients.
  • Partner closely with internal teams (culinary, banquets, AV, rooms, marketing, etc.) to ensure flawless event delivery.
  • Lead site visits, menu tastings, and planning meetings with clients to design bespoke event experiences tailored to their vision and goals.
  • Prepare detailed proposals and event orders, negotiate contracts, and ensure adherence to hotel standards and policies.
  • Meet or exceed individual local catering revenue goals, contributing to the overall success of the Catering & Events department.
  • Stay current on industry trends, luxury wedding expectations, and competitive offerings to maintain Conrad Orlando's leadership in the wedding and social events space.
  • Represent Conrad Orlando at industry events, bridal shows, and networking functions to drive awareness and leads.
  • Uphold Hilton brand standards and Conrad's unique brand positioning through every touchpoint of the event lifecycle.

What are we looking for?

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of progressive experience in event planning and sales, with a strong emphasis on weddings and social events in a luxury hospitality environment.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales goals and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport quickly with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills; detail-oriented and capable of managing multiple events simultaneously.
  • Proficient in hotel sales and event systems (e.g., Delphi.fdc, Social Tables, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexible schedule with the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs dictate.
  • CMP, CSEP, or wedding planning certification a plus.
