SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Plant Manager, the Cuber Operator is responsible for ensuring all products being packaged meet company quality standards and ensures the Cuber and surrounding equipment is operating properly following established policies and procedures. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following responsibilities. Other duties may be assigned as needed. 1. Performs quality control checks on all products being packaged. 2. Operates and maintains Cuber and surrounding equipment in a safe and efficient manner. 3. Perform pallet repair. 4. Perform end of shift clean-up. Including cleaning the mixer. 5. Communicate production emergencies. Maintain the work area in orderly and hazard-free conditions. 6. Following Energy Lockout procedures 7. Understand concrete product sizes, shapes and colors and communicating changes. 8. Able to cooperate with others. 9. Assisting other personnel for breaks. 10. Assisting with major equipment maintenance and repairs. 11. Training of employees. QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED Education, experience, and skills: · Requires a high school education, GED, or equivalent. · Must have mechanical aptitude and be familiar with the use of hand tools, hydraulics, and electricity. · Strong knowledge of safety regulations is preferred. · Ability to read, write, and possess shop math skills (understand simple engineering drawings, ability to use measurement devices, understand fractions/decimals, and perform simple math problems). · Know the parts and basic assembly of a mold. Know when faulty mold parts are affecting product quality. Understand concrete product sizes, shapes, and colors. · Ability to cooperate with others. · Exercise high levels of responsibility and task orientation. Understand and follow directions as required by safety and job performance standards. · Must be able to multitask and work under close time frames and remain calm under stressful situations. Physical, mental, and environmental requirements: This is a high energy and mentally demanding position. Daily problem solving is needed using specifications and interpersonal skills. Must be able to distinguish colors, size and other elements concerning the Company's products and materials. Regular lifting of objects up to 100 pounds may be required along with regular standing, walking, climbing, reaching, pulling, pushing, and grasping of objects. Although most work is performed inside the production area, some outside work activities are also required which are subject to seasonal Midwest weather conditions (summer heat and winter cold). Carefully follow noise, dust, and other environmental safety procedures as required. The environment also includes varying noise levels and vibrations associated with construction equipment, and exposure to building materials, dust, and dirt at the plant.
