As an Amphenol Industrial Operations (AIO) Process Engineer, you will be responsible for technical support & engineering for the processes of manufacturing and/or assembly of the products assigned. You should be able to analyze and solve problems from basic engineering principles theories and concepts through a wide range of complex and advanced problems. The position will also approve assembly instructions prior to release to production. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, manufacturing environment and works well across all levels of the organization. Duties/Responsibilities: Technical Direction and Knowledge: 50% Learn product knowledge and manufacturing processes from the Product Marketing team, other Process Engineers, Design Engineers, and Operations Supervisors on site. Executes Time Studies on products and reviews adjustments to current time standards with Manufacturing/Assembly and Product Marketing teams prior to adjustment. Will also audit time standards and provide feedback to operations and product marketing team. Utilize continuous improvement methods to improve efficiency and look for cost saving opportunities to help drive profitability of the business. Reviews and amends bills of materials from a process of manufacturing/assembly perspective and provides support for other departments as required with respect to bills of materials. Lead staff in NPI developments and builds of connectors, cable assemblies or harnesses. Identifies needed equipment and/or tooling for projects and products. Creates and submits purchasing requisitions or capital expenditure requests with expected payback as justification. Provides manufacturing floor support to include training for operators, support staff, and management. Process Control and Documentation: 50% Works independently or with others to document processes for manufacturing components or assembly of connectors/cable assemblies/harnesses for Amphenol Industrial products. Ensure proper documentation is completed to meet Quality System requirements, validating or overseeing the validation of processes as they are developed. Responsible for development and accuracy for work instructions on new product introduction. Enter time standards into ERP system for product being built to show labor hours needed to build part. Participate in Engineering Change Notification (ECN) by creating requests or review/approve notifications under work. May work with outside Engineering Services or suppliers with their daily work or to support other departments. Skills Technical Skills - Assesses own strengths and weaknesses. Qualifications - Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited College or University. High mix/low volume manufacturing experience a plus. Proficient Solidworks software experience is a plus. Self-motivated with strong attention to detail & time management. Experience with machining or automation is a plus. Proficient in Microsoft Office Software (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook)
