We're looking for a hands-on engineering professional with a passion for mechanical design and a moderate level of business acumen. If you're eager to apply your technical skills in a dynamic environment while supporting national and global defense operations, this role offers an excellent opportunity to grow.

What You'll Do (Essential Job Functions)

  • Review and execute product designs to ensure compliance with engineering principles, company standards, and customer specifications.
  • Collaborate closely with in-house manufacturing and a broad network of external vendors to resolve technical, scheduling, and testing challenges.
  • Qualify new vendors and foster strong working relationships to support production needs.
  • Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases with attention to detail and engineering accuracy.
  • Develop deep technical knowledge of Hunt Valve products and the broader defense industry, including mechanical drafting and hands-on experience in the shop through our "apprentice" program.

What You Bring (Key Skills)

  • Clear and confident communication with peers, leadership, customers, and suppliers—strong verbal and written skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
  • Familiarity with ANSI drawing standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Strong attention to detail for reviewing drawings, proposals, and technical documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities independently, while knowing when to seek support.
  • Preferred knowledge of non-destructive testing (NDT) and other manufacturing/inspection techniques.

What You Need (Job Requirements)

  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or a related Engineering field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience: 1-5 years (5+ preferred) in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
