Maintenance Mechanic - Level 2 (Finance)

An excellent career opportunity is available for a Maintenance Mechanic - Level 2, located at UOP's Research and Pilot Plant facility in Des Plaines, IL.

Job responsibilities include repair and service of pumps, compressors, seals, packing and bearings to support R&D Pilot Plant and laboratory facilities; and working with all types of hand tools to complete troubleshooting, repairs, preventative maintenance, and/or modifications to equipment. You will be expected to complete all work using safe work practices as defined by Honeywell.
While the job is based out of the Des Plaines, IL facility, must be capable of working at our McCook facility if the site requires support.

*High School Diploma or GED is required.

*Able to follow all established safety procedures and protocols.
*Working knowledge of rotating equipment such as pumps, compressors, seals, packing, and bearings.

*Experience and skill working with hand tools.
*Must be capable of lifting up to 35 pounds, work on elevated platforms as well as climb ladders and portable lifts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, lubrication, and adjustments, to ensure the proper functioning of equipment
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues in a timely manner to minimize downtime
  • Conduct preventive maintenance activities to prevent equipment failure and extend equipment lifespan
  • Collaborate with other maintenance team members to troubleshoot and resolve complex mechanical problems
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment logs, and inventory
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
