Executive Meeting Manager (Finance)



Job Description Summary

This position is responsible for generating conference business from a local or national market, the maximization of sales, the development of potential markets, and the sound administration of assigned responsibilities through sensible delegation and personal attention to detail. In addition, this role is also responsible for the planning and coordination of all of their group, conference, and catering-related activities. This position will act as the primary liaison between the client and the staff of the hotel, with the focus on meeting and exceeding client expectations with every interaction to ensure that our clients leave happy.

Job Description

  • Principal duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions) include:
  • Operational/Functional:
    • Plan, up-sell, and coordinate function details with clients, including room block, space requirements, meeting times, equipment, menus, billing, and other relevant details.
    • Prepare and execute sales/catering contracts, event orders, and group reservations to ensure quality product delivery and customer satisfaction.
    • Create and distribute effective internal and external communication (written and verbal).
    • Maintain accurate, legible records and files consistent with the established automated or manual sales system.
    • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned and participate in task forces and committees as requested.
    • Attend and participate in all hotel and/or departmental meetings, training sessions, and other information meetings.
  • Strategy and Planning:
    • Solicit, negotiate, and confirm new and repeat business through various efforts (lead follow-up, telemarketing, direct mail, referrals, internet prospecting, etc.) to maximize revenues to meet/exceed goals.
    • Develop and implement a creative sales strategy by analyzing historical, current, and future hotel/market/account trends.
    • Develop and continually enhance relationships with key corporate, business, and travel industry accounts.
    • Participate in training, trade shows, field trips, and community, industry, and professional organizations to maintain high visibility in support of the achievement of sales and revenue goals.
  • Financial Management:
    • Maximize revenues by meeting and exceeding booking goals.
    • Solicit and close appropriate groups and events based on the property's needs and demands.

    • Responsible for ensuring success through the eyes of employees, guests, and owners
    • Utilize and collaborate with resources across different departments and the corporate office
    • Capable of influencing employees to perform to their highest standard and establishing a trusting environment to enrich the culture

  • Qualifications and Skills

    A candidate for this position must possess the following applicable knowledge, skills, and abilities and be able to demonstrate and provide applicable examples to support his/her competency.

  • Track record of delivering exceptional guest and client experience
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Minimum of two years of hotel Sales experience preferred
  • Demonstrable expertise in analysis and action taking
  • Excellent oral and written communication
  • Excellent organization skills
  • Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of Delphi, Social Table, and Meeting Broker
  • Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time

Pay Range

Pay Range $25.00/hr. to 26.30/hr. plus tips. Base pay offered may vary depending on various factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and job-specific experience/overall experience.
