Manager, Supplier Business Development - Comms (Finance)



Summary:

The Manager of Supplier Business Development is responsible for leading a team of Supplier Business Development Specialists. The manager will manage overall Supplier Business Development functions by driving best practices and strategy for new customer recruitment, onboarding and growth. Additionally, the manager is responsible for coaching, mentoring and developing Supplier Business Development Specialists.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Drive business to achieve supplier(s) revenue and growth goals
  • Recruit, hire, and retain high-performing Supplier Business Development Specialists to ensure growth of assigned supplier(s)
  • Coach and develop team; provide regular performance feedback, development planning, and training
  • Motivate direct reports to achieve assigned quotas, KPI's, and SLA's
  • Develop and plan for growth and retention strategies to increase share of wallet and relationship with assigned supplier(s) and customers
  • Mentor team to manage pipeline, forecast lines of business, recruit new customers and achieve set targets
  • Maintain high profile for assigned supplier(s) to further productive relationships
  • Facilitate and drive alignment of Supplier Business Development team with other teams within ScanSource
  • Understand the competitive landscape of both the distributor and supplier(s)
  • Serve as escalation path for team and work closely with Supplier Services Directors and Managers
  • Work closely with sales organization to ensure proper account coverage
  • Regular attendance is an essential function of this position

Reporting Relationships:

  • Direct supervision given from Director of Supplier Services or VP of Supplier Services
  • Direct Reports (Supplier Business Development Specialists)
  • Daily contact with supplier(s) representatives, sales reps, accounting and ScanSource management
  • Will occasionally make presentations to supplier(s) and ScanSource Senior Management

Credentials:

Required:

  • 5+ years of previous experience in a supplier, sales or business development role
  • Previous experience in distribution channel strategies in a customer facing role
  • Experience with financial reporting and forecasting; proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Preferred:
  • Four-year degree from an accredited college or university; preferably in business or management
  • Prior sales or account management experience
  • SAP and Salesforce.com experience
  • Proficiency in foreign language (Spanish, Portuguese, French, German)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to sit at computer terminal for long periods of time
  • Ability to be physically in attendance at workstation at designated company office location during normal business hours designated for the position
  • Ability to travel up to 40% of the time
  • Ability to lift 20 pounds

Compensation:

Base Range : $60,000 - $80,000 and total compensation range $75,000 - $100,000

Actual annual salary offered to a candidate will be based on a number of variables including work experience, education and skills/ achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.

For non-sales roles and sales roles with a variable component, total compensation reflects both a base salary and variable targets .
