Bridgeway Center, Inc. (BCI)
Medical Assistant OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (Healthcare)
Medical Assistants (MA) OR Certified Medical Assistants (CMA) are health clinic associates who provide hands-on care to people with varying
degrees of health issues. They perform a vital, front-line function in all healthcare settings as they observe, treat and interact with patients -- often more than
any other staff. They carry out doctors orders, serving as the eyes, ears and hands of the diagnosing professional. They report back on how the treatment is
working or any unusual symptoms that need professional attention.
They may be responsible for interviewing patients, record-keeping, assisting patients with Prior Authorizations and PAP, assisting patients with
question about their medications, referrals to other departments, completing state mandated outcomes, assisting Providers with daily tasks, and gather
information to assist the Provider.
MA or CMA need good observation skills. Important personal characteristics include a stable personality, ability to work well with people and a true
motivation to help others.
Applicants must be outgoing and enjoy working with the public, professional, and para-professional team. Have the ability to collaborate and
communicate with BCI departments and external stakeholders. Must be able to multi-task and remain professional at all times to ensure that each client has
a positive and helpful healthcare experience.
