Chemical Eng Manager (Finance)



As a Chemical Engineer Manager here at Honeywell, you will play a crucial role in leading and managing the chemical engineering team. You will be responsible for overseeing the design, development, and implementation of chemical processes and solutions. Additionally, you will provide technical expertise, guidance, and support to ensure the successful execution of projects. The Chemical Engineer Manager will also collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development and improvement.

You will report directly to Grace Chao, Director of Chemical Engineering, and you'll work out of our Rosemont, IL location on a Hybrid work schedule.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage direct reports in Rosemont, guiding them through the Performance & Development process, including semi-annual assessments and 9-Block placement.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and conflict resolution to support employee growth and team cohesion.
  • Support staffing, budgeting ,and project scheduling in alignment with Senior Managers.
  • Ensure compliance with man-hour budgets and project schedules.
  • Communicate departmental goals and align staff performance with measurable expectations.
  • Oversee career development (MRR) and salary administration (GCP) for reporting staff.
  • Facilitate engineering input for technical proposals and collaborate with Sales, Technology Managers, and Senior Operations Managers to develop accurate cost estimates.
  • Maintain strong interfaces with Global Technology Centers to support project execution and career development.
  • Promote HSE best practices with a goal of zero incidents.
  • Support standardization of work processes and contribute to the Engineering infrastructure.
  • Foster productive relationships across engineering technology areas.
  • Participate in selected Engineering initiatives to drive continuous improvement.

Technology Focus:
  • Naphtha, Hydroprocessing, Renewables, Heavy Oil, FCC, Treating, Alkylation, Separex, and Solvent Technologies

YOU MUST HAVE
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in engineering design and operations or technology related areas.
  • Previous people management experience is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of project execution methodologies and industry standards.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
