Accounting Manager (ADMIN) (Administrative)
Reports To: Director of Finance
Location and hours:
This position is hybrid and will be performed both on-site (minimum 60%) at 1936 Lyndale Avenue South, Minneapolis, MN 55403, and remote (maximum 40%) as job duties require.Work hours will be Monday through Friday, with typical hours between 8 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening and weekend hours as required.

This is a full-time exempt position.
Essential Functions:
Supervise task-flow and provide direction to the accounting team. Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including:
Month-end process
Accounts payable/receivable
Cash handling and bank deposits
General ledger accounting
Bank account reconciliations
Accruals
Internal department transfers
Oversee maintenance and retention of accounting files and records
Payroll accounting: Perform bi-weekly payroll accounting including working with HR to ensure timeliness and accuracy of wages and deductions of taxes and benefits
Ongoing evaluation of opportunities to improve systems and procedures
Work with the Director of Finance on preparation of year-end audit requests
Assist the auditors and ensure they have timely access to all needed documents and reports.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Finance
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting
3+ years of experience as an Accounting Supervisor or Manager
Strong computer skills on MS Office, accounting software and databases
Intermediate to advanced Excel spreadsheet skills
Ability to manipulate large amounts of data
Demonstrated knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
High attention to detail and accuracy
Experience developing systems and procedures to improve operational efficiency
Demonstrated strong verbal communication skills, including the ability to give clear instructions.
Demonstrated ability to work well with others in fast-paced team environment while balancing multiple priorities.
Demonstrated bias for action and ability to self-motivate
Demonstrated ability to work with customers and coworkers from diverse cultural backgrounds.
Ability to work with TCCP to create an inclusive environment where all are welcomed.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters degree or CPAFamiliarity with cash-handling protocols and point of sale (POS) systemsExperience with Financial Analysis and Modeling Co-op and/or retail grocery accounting experience
Essential Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform continuous fine work and gripping with hands
Corrected vision to enable reading small print and large spreadsheets / workbooks
Ability to work effectively in-office with varied distractions and sounds
