GATE SHOP MANAGER (Maintenance)



Position Overview:
The Gate Shop Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the custom gate fabrication shop within a fencing company. This role ensures efficient production, quality craftsmanship, inventory management, and staff supervision while maintaining compliance with safety standards and company policies. Reporting to the General Manager, this is a full-time, hourly, non-exempt position eligible for overtime.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
Production ManagementOversee the fabrication and assembly of custom gates, ensuring high-quality craftsmanship.Monitor workflow efficiency and adjust processes to optimize production.Ensure all work meets customer specifications and industry standards.
Operations & Facility ManagementMaintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.Ensure all equipment is operational and properly maintained.Manage shop supplies and tools, ensuring availability and functionality.
Inventory & Materials ManagementTrack and manage inventory levels of raw materials and hardware.Verify purchase orders, inspect received items, and reconcile invoices.Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for timely material delivery.
Staff Supervision & TrainingLead and train shop personnel on fabrication techniques, safety procedures, and company standards.Assign tasks and manage daily workloads efficiently.Foster a collaborative and productive work environment.
Quality Control & ComplianceInspect finished products to ensure they meet quality and design specifications.Enforce compliance with OSHA safety regulations and company policies.Implement and maintain security measures for the shop and inventory.
Customer Service & CommunicationWork closely with sales and project managers to understand customer needs and deadlines.Address customer inquiries related to gate production and custom designs.Maintain clear communication with management regarding shop operations.
