Job Description
Primary Function of Position:

The Manager Manufacturing, Service is responsible of managing production and failure analysis activities of a Service Value Stream to deliver repair services and defect detection that meet quality specifications, achieve service level, and cost targets while ensuring employees safety, complying with all applicable regulations and company policies.

Under direct supervision works with the Sr. Manager or Director to establish short-term strategies meet SIOP production goals as well as product/ process transfer, employee engagement, culture deployment, and continuous improvement processes.

This role requires collaboration with local and corporate departments to ensure alignment and flawless plan execution. Responsible for maintaining an effective work model through the implementation and monitoring of process indicators in terms of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity.

Essential Job Duties

  • Hire, train, develop, and motivate Service Manufacturing personnel to follow procedures, comply with safety requirements, meet high quality standards, repair schedules, and productivity requirements
  • Participate in Goals deployment process, measure production metrics (KPIs) to monitor performance and coordinates actions to ensure improvements
  • Responsible for ensuring subordinates follow all Company guidelines related to Health, Safety and Environmental practices and that all resources needed to do so are available and in good condition
  • Interacts and collaborates with other departments to solve any restriction that may stop or slow down production, including material, personnel, equipment, and process issues
  • Coordinate with DS Planning, Production Control, Industrial Manufacturing Engineering during SIOP cycles to plan resources and equipment needs for assigned value streams
  • Coordinating closely with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, DS Planning, Production Control, and Quality Operations to meet value stream transfers and goals of line transfers.
  • Coordinate closely with Manufacturing Engineering and Quality Engineering to update and revise Manufacturing Process Instructions (MPIs) to ensure they are complete and accurate
  • Work closely with Product Support, Sustaining Engineering and other Departments to help with resolution of repair issues
  • Document and report any variances, problems, issues, or concerns
  • Provide Supervisors and Manufacturing Service personnel with expectations and performance feedback
  • Participate in a formal semi-annual performance review for Supervisors and Manufacturing Service personnel
  • In cooperation with the Service plan, supervise, drive improvement, and report Manufacturing Service performance including output, yields, root cause failures, efficiencies, and trends
  • Understand, train personnel, and enforce strict adherence to the applicable DOPs and SOPs of the Quality System
  • Maintain up to date training records
  • Learn and enforce company safety policies and practices
Qualifications
Required Skills and Experience
  • 5+ Years of experience in Medical Device, Servicing, and/or repair and overhaul operations
  • 3+ years of proven people leader experience
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English with the ability to do effective presentations for different organizational levels
  • Working Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 6-sigma
  • Knowledge of the Quality System requirements such as ISO-13485 and MDSAP
  • Knowledge of Environmental System requirements such as ISO-14001
  • Ability to identify opportunities for improvement through Continuous Improvement methodologies (Lean Sigma, Root Cause problem solving techniques)

Required Education and Training
  • BS in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering or Business Administration or related fields

Working Conditions
  • Ability to lift 50lbs.
  • Able to use office and test equipment in a typical office/light manufacturing environment.
  • Repetitive motion. Keyboard and computer motion.

Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 2+ years of experience with Continuous Improvement Manufacturing Systems (Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, 5S, etc.), Project Management, Product Transfer
  • Experience with ERP, Change Control, and Planning Systems (SAP and Agile preferred)
  • FDA and ISO audit exposure

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.

Base Salary Range Region 1: $136,300 USD - $196,100 USD
Base Salary Range Region 2: $115,900 USD - $166,700 USD
