Parts Manager – Heavy Equipment Dealership

We are seeking an experienced Parts Manager to oversee the daily operations of our parts department ensuring optimal customer experience for both internal (shop) and external customers. This position is responsible for managing the branch's parts inventory, maintaining accurate data in our systems ensuring a safe and organized warehouse and for providing guidance and support to the Parts team. This position will report to the Branch Manager.

COMPENSATION:     Anticipated salary of between $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 annually

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the parts department, including inventory management, order processing, vendor management and customer service
  • Maintain accurate records of parts inventory, sales, and purchases in business systems
  • Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of parts and negotiate suitable terms
  • Supervise and train parts department staff, onboard new parts team members, ensure compliance with company protocols and standard processes and participate in ongoing training to stay updated on products and processes
  • Ensure exceptional customer service is provided to customers, and that inquiries and issues are addressed and resolved promptly
  • Regularly monitor and analyze department performance metrics, adjust as needed and provide comprehensive reports to management, highlighting key performance drivers
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the department
  • Oversee the effective selling and cross-selling of parts referencing active campaigns or promotions
  • Ensure effective and efficient departmental processes
  • Monitor financial metrics of the department and make recommendations to leadership to improve or enhance performance
  • Ensure team works in a safe manner and maintains compliance with safety regulations and company standards
  • Analyze parts reports and approve expenses for the department
  • Other duties as assigned

ABOUT YOU:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and demonstrated ability to work well with individuals within and outside of the organization
  • Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as parts manuals
  • Ability to prioritize and organize workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic mathematical skills
  • Able to effectively communicate with all other departments in the facility and build strong relationships with all stakeholders

POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Business Diploma or associate's degree considered an asset
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driver's record
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check

Experience:

  • 5+ years' experience in heavy equipment, construction or automotive parts and/or service environment
  • Previous experience in leading and managing a team
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office and ERP/Inventory Management systems
  • Mechanical aptitude or previous exposure to heavy equipment parts
  • Experience managing a warehouse environment
