HBOT APP Instructor I (Finance)



The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of South Florida Morsani College of Medicine is seeking a faculty member to develop and maintain a competitively funded research program and participate in interdisciplinary research in fields associated with Emergency Medicine. The ideal candidate will have a track record of clinical expertise in emergency medicine and academic accomplishments to facilitate delivering exceptional clinical care, and be committed to research and education.Master's or Medical degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate field of specialization or equivalent qualifications based on professional experience and otherwise qualified to perform assigned duties. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Instructor.

This position requires graduation from an accredited Advanced Practice Registered Nurse academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 464 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64, or graduation from an accredited Physician Assistant academic degree program and certification as outlined in Florida Statutes 458 and 459 and Florida Administrative Code, Chapter 64. Visit the Central Human Resources ADA Accommodations webpage for more information on requesting an accommodation during the application/interview process.Under general supervision and in accordance with standardized procedures, the nurse practitioner/physician assistant performs physical examinations and treats common episodic and chronic healthcare problems. The nurse practitioner/physician assistant counsels patients and families, monitors patient progress, and assists with clinical research projects. The nurse practitioner/physician assistant collaborates with other healthcare team members, consulting and referring as appropriate, but retains responsibility for ongoing clinical management of patients. Successful candidates will have strong clinical skills and an interest in serving a diverse patient population.

Specific Duties include:
Patient Care:
• Candidate will be trained to operate the HBOT chambers and provide clinical oversight.
• Provide comprehensive care to veteran patients participating in the HBOT clinical trial.
• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and symptom evaluation.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
• Monitor patient progress throughout the trial period and adjust care plans as necessary.
• Collaborate with principal investigators, research coordinators, and other healthcare professionals to ensure smooth execution of the clinical trial protocol.
• Assist in the recruitment of eligible veteran participants and obtain informed consent in conjunction with the other research team members.
• Coordinate patient scheduling, follow-up visits, and data collection per the trial protocol.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain accurate documentation of all study-related activities.
• Collect relevant clinical data and research outcomes from patient encounters, medical records, and study assessments.
• Assist in the compilation and analysis of research data, including statistical analysis and interpretation.
• Contribute to preparing research reports, presentations, and publications for dissemination of findings.
• Educate and support veteran patients regarding the HBOT procedure, its potential benefits, and any associated risks.
• Offer guidance and counseling to patients and their families throughout the trial process.
• Serve as a resource for healthcare team members regarding HBOT research and its implications for patient care.
• Willingness to work during non-standard hours, including early morning shifts, and condensed shifts on Saturdays as needed.
• Maintains compliance with established University and department policies and procedures, quality assurance, safety, environmental, infection control and complies with requirements of accreditation and regulatory agencies. Performs other duties as assigned.

Responsible to a Chair or other appropriate higher-level administrator of a State university. Responsible for teaching, research, service, and related administrative activities.
