Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) is currently seeking a Core Receiving and Inventory Supervisor is responsible for developing systems and processes, overseeing the storage, handling, and inventory management of 3D-printed sand cores and chills used in the foundry process.

What will you do?
  • Responsible for driving a culture of safety in your business unit, putting safety first, and utilizing stand up meetings, safety talks, and other means to communicate and set expectations with employees, driving accountability and excellence in all facets of safety.
  • Operate as a business owner demonstrating metrics-based management in areas of Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost
  • Ensures effective employee relations, coaching, and employment development
  • Create a positive culture focused on metrics and progressing business unit forward through group participation and ownership of project pipeline and business unit.
  • Oversee the hiring, orienting, and training of technical production employees to ensure a competent workforce
  • Experience using operations data to drive decisions and action items.
  • Owns quality, productivity, cost and morale to achieve positive results in all areas.
  • Responsible for onboarding new employees and training for on-the-job tasks and responsibilities.
  • Mentor existing Leads and/or develop Leads to help facilitate company goals and objectives.
  • Responsible for performance management and conducting annual performance reviews.
  • Enforces and implements company policies in a way that employees buy-in.
  • Develops and implement corrective actions where necessary.
  • Understand and communicate quality specifications.
  • Partners with and engages Engineering & Quality for product & policy needs. Supports Engineering and Quality with improvements to business systems, process, and product.
  • Responsible for preventive maintenance program where applicable. Resolve daily maintenance issues or breakdowns by partnering with facility maintenance team.
  • Responsible for owning inventory and supplies for department, keeping business unit within budget and maintaining appropriate levels for production demand.
  • Utilize LEAN management tools within department to drive better efficiency and performance
  • Continuous improvement - hold formal meetings with hourly workers to identify problems and determine improvement projects.
  • Responsible for 5/6S within your area / business unit (Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, Sustain, Safety)
  • This role ensures that all printed cores are properly received, inventoried, and processed through the necessary cleaning and baking stages before release to production.
  • This role ensures that the chill recovery and sorting process, along with the chill replacement process is managed and supports the foundry schedule.
  • Collaborates with engineering and technical teams to understand proper core handling requirements and chill sorting requirements.
  • Additionally, this position requires coordination with planning, third-party suppliers to manage core orders, track damages, and ensure a smooth core flow to assembly. This role is essential to ensuring a smooth and reliable flow of 3D-printed sand cores and chills into production, requiring a mix of warehouse management skills, technical aptitude, and supply chain coordination.
Key Job Responsibilities:
  • Receiving & Inspection - Ensure all printed cores from third-party suppliers are received correctly, inspected for damages, and reported for re-orders as necessary.
  • Inventory Management -a. Maintain an accurate inventory of cores, including system entries and real-time stock tracking for availability. B. Monitor the chill sorting process and assure quality standards are being followed to determine when chills should be discarded and new chills ordered.
  • Damage Control & Supplier Coordination - Communicate with vendors to address damaged cores, coordinate replacements, and adjust inventory records accordingly.
  • Cleaning & Baking Process Oversight - Ensure cores and chills go through the required cleaning and baking processes before use in production.
  • Production Release & Scheduling - Coordinate the release of chills and inventoried cores to production based on scheduling needs of the foundry.
  • Collaboration with Engineering & Technical Teams - Work closely with engineers to understand handling and storage requirements for 3D-printed cores or changes to chill acceptance criteria.
  • Supply Chain Coordination - Manage supplier relationships, place orders for new cores and chills, and ensure timely deliveries to support production.
  • Data Entry & System Management - Maintain accurate records of inventory movement, system updates, and reporting through spreadsheets and Oracle.
  • Continuous Improvement - Identify opportunities to improve inventory processes, handling procedures, and core flow efficiencies

What will make you a successful candidate?
  • High school diploma or equivalent. Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 2+ years supervisory experience in an industrial manufacturing environment - preferably Sandcast, Casting, Aerospace, Melting, or heavy manufacturing
  • Organizational Skills, Proficient MS Office suite of software (Word, Excel, Power Point. etc.),
  • Excellent written, verbal & presentation communications skills,
  • Strong commitment and focus on safety. Proficient with Lean Management techniques (C.I., 6S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke), ability to gather and employ data to meet operational goals in metric driven environment.
